Dave Close (kneeling) is The State Master Gardener Coordinator for Virginia Cooperative Extension.  He manages this successful program of more than 5000 volunteers statewide.  He is a forester by training and the principle investigator of the Land Care Stewardship Cooperative Agreement with the National Park Service.
Matt Yancey of Elkton, Va., is the Forestry and Natural Resources Extension Agent for the Northwest District.
Yancey's position focuses on providing research-based information on forestry and natural resource-related issues to the public. Yancey reaches the public through seminars, workshops, field tours, publications, and one-to-one contact.
Located in Wytheville, David Richert is the RC&D Forester for Western Virginia. David Richert is a graduate of Virginia Tech with a B.S. in Forestry (1998) and a M.S. in Forestry (2001).
Frank Reilly is a Master Gardener Volunteer and a Research Fellow at LMI  He speaks throughout the mid-Atlantic on Land Care and water quality issues.  He is the editor and author of Advanced Master Gardener: Land Care Steward.
Barb Stewart is Fire Education Specialist for the Northeast Region of the National Park Service.  This project and the educational materials developed were originally requested by Barb.  She was project monitor and she still actually cleans the leaves out of her own gutters.
